Happy Racing!  

To use this car set, create a new directory under the CARS directory
for Indycar Racing II called PPG97X.  Copy the unzipped files into 
this directory.  To select this car set, start ICR2 and select 
Driver Info.  Select PPG97X and head to the tracks!

This is a "sneak preview" of things to come. Joachim Boeddeker is
working on creating a new dimension in carsets. He is working on making
all areas of the car available for "textures". To see the progress, look
at the sidepods of the #6 car or both end-plates on the rear wing on car
#32. Other cars in the set have been enhanced. Unfortunately this new
carset will not work with the Paintkit that comes with ICR2. To enjoy
the new cars take 'em out to the track or preview them in the Driver
Info window. 

As the season progresses and more photos are produced the cars will be
updated. Richard and I are currently working with another partner. We
hope to have a big surprising update in the near future. Check

We took a few artistic liberties with a few cars. We've placed the logo
usually seen from the rear of Paul Tracy's car on the rear wing. We
thought this would help identify who is ahead of you :-) Some of the
teams have different logos on the back and front of the rear wings. For
instance, the #11 has a white background with a red KMart on the front,
but it is red with a white Budweiser on the rear. We have opted for a
red background with a white KMart. Rahal's car is based on the "show"
version and differs slightly from the "race" version.

The Number 70 Smirnoff car is the "signature" car of Richard C.
Montgomery for 1997. The number 66 Heinekin car is Richard's modem
partner's car. The number 13 Lucky Strike car is the "signature" car of
Joachim Boeddeker. 

Whenever possible real logos and artwork were used for the decals.

The drivers2.txt file is up to date through the 1997 U.S. 500 at
Michigan. This file is a more agressive (and I believe accurate)
drivers' skill file based on the X-file.txt
